Hello,

I make small arcade games in my free time with game engine Phaser 3.

I started this project because I wanted to see how far I can take the Phaser.js engine in making smaller but nevertheless fun engaging mobile games...

I remembered an old PC game named paratrooper I used to play at home...I believe it wasn't even the 90's yet so it was certainly a while ago.

I began this project with not really a specific goal only to see if I could be able to make an updated version with a few new twists here and there...

And after a few moths of programming I am finally able to launch "City Blaster".

I am very proud of this project because altough I am still in no ways an expert of Phaser I still managed to create a very solid game and gained a lot of experience...

So, well...enjoy this game (hope you do)...and let me know what you think of it...

and maybe I will make some more content out of it in the future..who knows!

Shoot away I would say! Let's see how long you survive...

Enjoy!

Nice game! I played on mobile, survived for 212 seconds. I found out a technique to prevent planes, just tap fast on top-right and top-left corner.

Glad you like it! Yeah it should be working fine on android so I guess you have a blast haha…

There are a few ways you can get ahead of the attacks so good you found a way ;).

Thanks for playing!

I enjoyed.

Not bad, it's hard but it's fun too! kinda wish the shooting is auto upon mouse-down. I can't even get passed 50 secs though, the tank >_>

thanks. Truth is this game is best played on mobile. If you play it with the mouse it is pretty tough.

Thanks for playing!

I like that it's a browsergame, while I'd prefer a "pause"-button and maybe the starting-screen with optional preview of in-game sound., than just muting or enable audio there.

SOmehow that sent army-guys even shoots some missle to the outside screen's direction than to my centered device xD

The controls sound easy for using, btw: testing it on a windows8.1-laptop on basilisk-browser.

Allright thanks for the comment. Yes the army guys are programmed to shoot left and right so it's not a bug it's intended. I can understand it looks stupid sometimes...but the army guys are supposed to destroy everything, not just your blaster...so that's why they throw bombs around all over the place...

Okay sounds legit. And I also noticed the building's damage (as fire "icons") seem to be quite on a similar position only. How about adding them in random sections or also as differing in graphics e.g. black bullet-holes or grenades damaging it bit different in that case, etc.

I like how the parachutes fly upwards than sinking, just when thinking of gravity and if the armyguy being hit and his parachute being left. I'd expect to see it sink to the floor and vanish on its way there or slightly when touching the surface?

I think that the game is great and fun! I like how you have to react quickly before the planes can shoot you or the buildings. One thing I didn't like was that sometimes there were pauses in between the action, but you might be able to fix this problem by having a higher spawn rate with enemies that do less damage, or you could also add music to keep the player distracted. It is not that big of a problem though, since when the game starts spawning again, it is really fun.

I tried making phaser games before, but I was just starting out in programming. Maybe I should try it again.

Thanks for the reply.

I am glad you like it in general. I understand your point about the pauses. I wasn't sure if it was a good thing to put some pause in it or not...so i'll defenitly reconsider it for the update!

Yes Phaser 3 is pretty good once you get into it!

OH and to play the game, just tap the screen to shoot that's it...

There is 2 ways to have a "Game Over" Screen.

OR

your blaster has been hit once  (so be careful...)

OR

All your civilians are dead...(so watch your people)

Good luck!
